Squeeze Play was formed in January 1991 with the goal of being the biggest accordion band in the region. Our first big performance was the Zinzinnati Oktoberfest in September 1992. And we have been invited to play at every Oktoberfest since then. We have also occasionally performed with the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra.

Squeeze Play performs for audiences at many civic dances, church festivals, and retirement centers. We entertain with “happy-feet music” and audience participation.

We are about the size of a big band, except that many of us play accordion.  Yet our players are versatile, giving us the traditional big band sound with saxes, clarinets, flutes, brass, guitars, and keyboard.  Because of this versatility, we can perform not only big band music, but many other styles; 50’s and 60’s tunes, great Broadway Medleys, memorable Movie Themes, and lots more.  And when the accordions are strapped on, we perform polkas and other ethnic tunes as they should be authentically played.  So our programs always have a wide variety of musical styles, with tunes that will please everyone in the crowd.
